Negroni Special is distilled with extra Juniper, Spices and Orange to complement the intensity of the flavours of Campari and Vermouth in the classic Negroni cocktail. The spirit is then rested in new French oak barrels for a few weeks before bottling. The result is a deep golden colour and the development of sweet honey, toffee aromas and caramel/butterscotch flavours that round out the botanicals. Finally it is bottled at a high proof to deliver strength and body to the Negroni and other boozy old fashioned cocktails.
Perfect served in a traditional Negroni 1:1:1 with Campari and Sweet Vermouth. It works equally well in many pre-prohibition cocktails like Gin Old Fashioned, Gin Manhattan, Aviation, Martinez etc . Or try it neat with a couple of ice cubes. As the ice melts it dilutes the spirit and different botanicals come through in the flavours as you sip it.
