Twelfth Hour Distillery fuses fresh, exotic botanicals from around the globe with NZ Gin. Small batch distilled with kaffir lime being the hero, a group of friends in NZ spent many nights working well past midnight (aka the Twelfth Hour) perfecting the recipe. After 22 iterations they finally found the perfect drop - a clean, crisp citrus aroma on the nose follows through on the palate with an initial hit of makrut (kaffir lime) on the tongue leading to a lingering dry finish.
The kaffir lime is homegrown - nurtured and grown by the master distiller's mother in her own garden, and complimented by a bouquet of other botanicals including juniper, coriander seeds, lemon and orange. Combined they create a punchy Gin perfect for summer but made to enjoy all year round.
Combine with your favourite tonic, and add a bruised kaffir lime leaf to really enhance the lead botanical, or garnish with a ribbon of cucumber for a refreshing twist. Don't be surprised if you see some cloudiness when the tonic is added - this is an unfiltered Gin, leaving all the flavoursome oils intact to enhance your drinking experience, which can cause cloudiness when mixed but ensures it retains all the flavour!
