Scapegrace ‘Uncommon’ is the latest category from the homegrown heroes. Offered as a limited range of spirits cultivated following a craft-distilling ethos, ‘Uncommon’ will become the fifth product tier from the prolific company.
Scapegrace plans to introduce new limited releases to the market every six months. With only 3,000 individually numbered bottles available, this latest release – and those that follow – will quickly become sought-after collectors’ editions.
Showing true diversity to New Zealand’s playground of seasonal produce and botanicals, the first exclusive release looks at two completely different styles, from different regions at different periods of their harvest season. The Central Otago Early Harvest and Hawkes Bay Late Harvest.
Each rare gin has a distinct botanical profile inspired by the region, including the diverse collection of nectarine, lavender, smoked hay and pollen from Central Otago, and raspberry leaf, pear and olive brine from Hawkes Bay.
Scapegrace Uncommon Central Otago Early Harvest Gin has botanicals of Nectarine, Lavender, Smoked Hay & Pollen. Taking inspiration from Central Otago in the early harvest, this rare gin provides fresh, ripe and young flavours.
Light grassy green colour. Bright, floral with stone fruit & juniper on the nose. Punchy & vivid nectarine to start on the palate with savoury pollen following, citrus & coriander finishes the mid palate. Clean, refined, savoury finish with lavender & juniper building on top.
Serve with premium tonic over ice or in a White Negroni cocktail with a grapefruit zest & olive garnish.
